Ok i know that the intel core 2 duo t7200 processor is a 64 bit capable processor, i also believe that the xps m1210 comes with vista 32 bit. i was wondering if there was anyway that i could load vista 64 bit onto that processor and if i would have to upgrade the bios or not and if i did would dell provide the upgrade.. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure that the windows 7 you've installed matches (a) the type of machine you have (ie: 32-bit > 32-bit win 7/ 64-bit > 64-bit win 7) and (b) try to avoid the custom installation option.. Another issue is that you can’t upgrade from a vista 32 bit version to windows 7 64 bit i have added a link in the article above to help you tell which version you have but i’m pretty sure that the dell xps m1210 never shipped in a 64 bit version of windows..
