Fresh 16.04 ubuntu install with additional hplip-gui installation. my network printer is detected and a sensible driver is suggested, but nothing is printed. there is communication between the printer and my pc (toner status etc) and scanning with xsane _does_ work.. Currently at my workplace there was a change in os used - we went from windows 7 to linux ubuntu. there is a problem regarding the oldest printer we have the laserjet m1132 mfp. i can't seem to find drivers for this operating system on this printer. i have installed hplip that is a software used to. Hp is one of the printer manufacturers that has its own driver package for linux, including ubuntu… the driver package is maintained by the open source community, but has hp full support.. hp linux printers driver package is known as hp linux imaging and printing (hplip) and it’s updated frequently to support newer printers as they become. I am trying to setup hp p1102 printer on ubuntu 14.04. i have downloaded foo2zjs-z2 and hplip-3.14.10 but i do not know what to do with them. the computer recognines printer but it will not print.. It seems that the only way to get the latest hplip support for this printer on ubuntu 16.04.2 is to use hp's manual installer. at the time of writing, that is version 3.17.4, a bit newer than what is already included in ubuntu 16.04.2 by default..
